*Sous Chef and Head Chef roles available across several locations in Newton Longville, Steppingley and Biddenham. One role requires you to split your work between Newton Longville and Marsh Baldon. There is the option for a Head Chef to live in at Steppingley.*
Sous Chef role:
This is a great opportunity to work as a sous chef at a gastro pub passionate about food. You will also have opportunities to develop your career at their sister company Life’s Kitchen that specialises in high end London banqueting. As sous chef, you will be assisting the head chef in the daily running of the kitchen. Your salary will be £30,000 per year and on top of this you will receive around £2500 in tips (shared equally amongst staff) and £2,000 travel support per year.
Responsibilities:
· Directing the food preparation process and delegating tasks
· Cooking and preparing high quality dishes
· Assisting the Head Chef to create menu items, recipes and develop dishes
· Supervising all kitchen stations
· Supervising, motivating and working closely with other Chefs of all levels
· Being responsible for health and safety
· Being responsible for food hygiene practices
· Ensuring food quality and excellent standards are maintained for all dishes created
· Assisting with determining food inventory needs, stocking and ordering
· Ensuring the kitchen meets all regulations including sanitary and food safety guidelines
Requirements and Skills:
· Relevant Health and Safety and Food qualifications
· Awareness of manual handling techniques
· Awareness of Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations (COSHH) and chemical safety
· Experience of kitchen equipment
· Experience of dangerous equipment such as knives
