This is a great opportunity to work with a friendly team in a good atmosphere, at a pub close to scenic countryside known for its wildlife. As a Commis/Junior Chef, your role will include food preparation and basic cooking under the supervision of a senior chef. You will learn a range of different cooking styles and will have plenty of opportunities to develop your career. The shift patterns are 6 hour days (sometimes including weekends) and the starting salary is 21-22k per year depending on experience.
Responsibilities:
• Maintaining high standards of hygiene.
• Preparing the ingredients for a senior chef.
• Measuring dish ingredients and portion sizes.
• Dealing with deliveries and stock rotation.
Skills and experience:
• Level 2 or 3 food hygiene qualification.
• Basic knowledge of all sections.
• Ability to work under supervision.
• Ability to produce good quality basic food.
• Understanding of health and safety.
• Understanding of basic food hygiene practices.
• Good verbal communication.
